The cold has been here for a while but now it’s official, Winter’s here. And it’s a chilly one. Here’s some fun things to do to warm your soul.
Castlemaine Jazz Festival – 5-7 June
The Castlemaine Jazz Festival runs across the Queens birthday long weekend highlights a range of musical styles and age groups. Incorporating the styles of traditional jazz, modern jazz, Chicago blues, swing, jazz, funk, salsa, 1970’s pop and many in between and beyond. Held in many historic pubs and contemporary cafes and spaces a great weekend is sure to abound.
Heathcote on Show – 6-8 June
A reknowned wine region Heathcote has so much more to offer. Combine some great food and music with wine tastings and you have an exciting weekend ahead.
Food Fossicking Tours Bendigo – 6, 13, 20, 27 June
If you’re foodies like us, and we think you are, then you’ll love this fossickers guide to Bendigo food. The tour heads to some of Bendigo’s finest food haunts and includes visits to Bendigo Wholefoods, The Epicurean Delicatessen, The Good Loaf Bakery, Indulge Fine Belgian Chocolates and Masons of Bendigo where you get to meet the makers and hear their stories. Sounds like a great morning to me.
Castlemaine Farmers Market and Artists Market – 7 June
Castlemaine has a wide variety of producers and artists and they’re sharing their goods on Sunday 7 June.
Bendigo Farmers Market – 13 June
The Bendigo Community Farmers Market is on my must do list every month. We stop by and pick up our organic veggies and the most flavoursome, tender meat you could imagine. With fabulous local food on offer along with music.
Nuno Felting & Eco Printing 2 day Workshop – 13-14 June
Why not try something a little different this month? We’re fortunate to have the talented Pam Hovel offering her Nuno Felting & Eco Printing workshop where you get to make a printed wool and silk scarf. Visit Pams inspiring gallery to see her style.
Craft Alive – 26-28 June
Calling all makers and anyone who loves crafty things. All the latest craft trends and supplies, hand finished products, DIY projects and create workshops and classes to inspire your imagination. Let your inner kid run free for the day and get yourself to this fun expo.
